CAR LICENCE RENEWAL SERVICE IN SOUTH AFRICA

TopAuto reports that PayCity has shutdown its cheap car licence renewal service in South Africa. Previously the more affordable services of its kind, the online entity notified customers that it would be ending the service at the end of June 2024. It says that any renewals submitted before this time would still be honoured and processed.

However, it apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates your continued support, said PayCity. Overall, PayCity was the cheapest option available countrywide at just R113.85. Of course, this is over and above the cost of your individual vehicle licence, which is calculated by vehicle weight and varies depending on which province you live in.

WHAT OTHER SERVICES CAN YOU USE?

Thankfully, as far as a cheap car licence renewal service in South Africa goes, you cannot beat the convenience of the government-backed eNatis portal at just R171. This is simply our opinion, of course. But we used it earlier in the year and found the process effortless. There is also My Money Market’s offering through Checkers/Shoprite/USave outlets countrywide at R185 (discounted from R225).

Spar’s licence service will cost you R199 and Pick n Pay also has a renewal offering for R329. However, the new most affordable option offered countrywide is now the South African Post Office at R147, including delivery. And don’t forget the WhatsApp-based Disky, which may be more expensive but it’s time effective for some.
